The scores for Warhammer Fest can be very confusing because firste you needed to go 5-0 and ther was a play-off with the top 16. But all the players that fall out of the bracket kept playing. So their are people with 7-2 records in the top 20. Maybe I will do a extra article with all the list that did well.

This weekend we had Warhammer fest. They held a huge 40k tournament with 359 players. It was a brutal start as you had to go 5 and 0 to get into the top 16 who had to play 4 more games with a play-off system.

I was present at this tournament myself and watched quite a few games. Firstly, I found the bracket system very poor. There were 3 people through with a 4-1 record or 4-0-1 but these were only people who lost their last game. What I disliked the most was the terrain. GW used the transparent square plates with terrain on them. In my opinion the plates were much too big and there were only 6 pieces per table. In my opion the top 10 doesn`t show the best 10 players of the event. Because of the cut-off and the terrain you could be just lucky.

I'm much more fan of at least 10 pieces of terrain with a lot of L-shapes. The GW setups caused a lot of people to turtle in the terrain. You couldn't move on the field without exposing yourself. If you had turn 1 you were at a serious disadvantage. The table are probably the reason why Iron Hands won. They play fine on the GW layout/tables and can always deal their damage first with their drop pod, Desolators, speeders and charachter dread.

The meta seems fun with a lot of different lists doing well. Ad Mech won a big event and we see a lot of other factions in the top.
